16. Invitation to take photos

Take a photo of yourself as a puppet!

A pedestal about 160 cm tall and 160 cm wide, with the X-ray images of two puppets drawn side by side. Above the puppets' faces are holes in the pedestal, one higher and one lower.

You can go behind the pedestal and have your photo taken with your face through the hole.

On the back of the pedestal, where you stand to be photographed, at the left edge about 80 cm from the floor, are the exhibit number, the NFC symbol and a QR code — scanning it lets you experience the exhibition in an accessible way.

Hortensio is the taller of the two puppets. The puppet's arms and much of the body are made of springs. In the X-ray image, the lower part of the puppet's body resembles a blurry box, with the puppet's legs attached to it. The puppet wears shoes fastened with hinges. Plenty of screws show inside the shoes.

The upper body and arms of Roswitha, the shorter of the two puppets, are faintly outlined. Showing more brightly are the puppet's tea-strainer-like breasts and the bolts in her hands. The puppet's pelvic area shows in the X-ray image as an irregular lattice, from which extend articulated legs ending in heeled clogs.
