The Taming of the Shrew (2019)
director Merja Pöyhönen, designer Rosita Raud
To depict a character who is in love, the puppet of Bianca was made with removable heads: one of them had a mechanism that enabled lifting the flap in front of the eyes to reveal the "flowers and butterflies" in her head as a sign of her feelings.
Description
A rectangular display case about 140 cm tall with a slanted top. Two sides of the case are black; one of them carries the white text introducing the exhibit. On the right edge of the same side, about 80 cm from the floor, are the exhibit number, the NFC symbol and a QR code — scanning it lets you experience the exhibition in an accessible way.
The other two sides of the case are glass, and the puppet can be seen through them. Depicted on one glass side is the X-ray image of the puppet inside the case, together with keywords naming the materials the puppet is made of.

To depict a character who is in love, the puppet of Bianca was made with removable heads: one of them had a mechanism that enabled lifting the flap in front of the eyes to reveal the "flowers and butterflies" in her head as a sign of her feelings.
Bianca is presented as two similar puppet heads on metal rods, fixed to a round metal base.
The girl's head has golden curly hair. On the top of the head the hair lies flat; at the sides it is in plaits made of nylon thread. At the top of the plaits are purplish-pink bows.
The girl has blue eyes with long black lashes and a pink mouth. The area around her eyes is painted softly grey, as if she were wearing an eye mask.
Bianca's left head is the same as the other one, but the greyish mask area together with the eyes has been lifted up, and the area behind it is full of blue, pink, white, purple and orange flowers.
Bianca's X-ray image shows the puppet's oval heads. In the middle of the head is a vertical support rod running down to the neck, thickening towards the bottom, with several tiny nuts and washers on it. The support rod ends at the puppet's neck, which is marked as a compressed-air quick coupling with a spring.
The puppet's eyelids show as white arcs. In the upper and lower parts of the face are two lighter horizontal arcs — aluminium bars.
In the image of Bianca's second head her face appears slightly more transparent, revealing a wire mesh around the puppet's eyes and a spring on her forehead. There is a screw on the puppet's nose and a nail in the chin area. The spring can be found on the large demonstration puppet at number 12.
You can find a tactile drawing of the puppet's X-ray image at exhibit 12, the light table.

Bianca has more than one head.
There are flowers and butterflies in the puppet's head,
because she is in love.
